1. Can’t sign in to OUMail
1-1. you don't reach the password entry screen
You may have entered the wrong email address. Please check the following points.
- The email address is "Osaka University Personal ID@ecs.osaka-u.ac.jp". For example, "u000000x@ecs.osaka-u.ac.jp". You must input your full email address.
- Graduates' email address has changed from ~~@ecs.osaka-u.ac.jp to ~~@alumni.osaka-u.ac.jp. For the details, look at this website.
- OUMail is the service for students. Faculty can't use OUMail.
1-2. the password you entered is wrong
- If you change your password, it takes about an hour for the password of OUMail to be updated.
- Your password must be no more than 16 characters. If it is more than 16 characters, change your password. You can change your password through the Campus-wide IT authentication service website.
- Try to sign in to OUMail with another Web browser. If the other Web browser works well, the cause is in the browser you usually use. Clear cache. Look at the following website and clear cache and cookie. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari
1-3. Multi-factor authentication doesn't work well. For example, changing your phone number or device.
Request for resetting your account's multi-factor authentication from this website.
2. Changing or not knowing the password
The password for OUMail is the same as the one for Osaka University Personal ID.
If you forget your password, contact the staff for Campus-wide IT Authentication Platform Service.
You can change your password from this website.
If you change your password, it takes about an hour for the password of OUMail to be updated.
3. Not receiving messages
3-1. Messages don't reach OUMail
- Some emails may reach "Junk Email".
- When you set forwarding, make sure to check "keep a copy of forwarded messages".
Otherwise, messages don't leave OUMail's Inbox.
3-2. Messages don't reach the forwarding email address.
- Confirm the email address you input is correct.
- Remember to change the forwarding setting when you change your email address.
- Sign in and check OUMail regularly because some messages may not be forwarded.
4. Changing multi-factor authentication options.
For example, changing your phone number or device.
