Together with the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Kansai University, Kwansei Gakuin University, Osaka Electro-Communication University, BioGrid Center Kansai, Consortium Kansai, and Cyber Kansai Project, the Cyber Media Center has established a program called “VisLab Osaka” at the collaboration office in Umekita. With Umekita’s Knowledge Capital as the center of knowledge and intellect for the project, VisLab has the goal of reaching out to others and promoting collaborative research and visualization. Many research results and visualizations have already been put on display at “The Lab,” a place where people can see and interact with cutting edge technology. VisLab also enables the public to easily grasp the ideas behind these technologies through first-hand experiences and participation in various workshops.
